ICT Support and Test Engineers
ICT Support Engineer develops methods and strategies to support, build, maintain, and manage technical quality assurance processes and guidelines as well as system infrastructure, investigate, analyze, and resolve system problems and performance issues, and test the behavior, functioning, and integrity of systems.
Skill Level
The majority of professions in this unit category need a level of expertise equivalent to a bachelor’s degree or more. For the formal qualification, at least five years of relevant experience and/or equivalent vendor certification may be substituted. In some cases, in addition to the official qualification (ANZSCO Skill Level 1), appropriate experience and/or on-the-job training may be necessary.
English Requirement
- IELTS result with a minimum score of 6 in writing, listening, reading), 7 in speaking, and 7 overall.
- OET result with a minimum grade B in all sections.
- TOEFL iBT with a minimum score of 12 in listening, 13 in reading, 21 in writing, 23 in speaking, and overall 93.

Tasks to Perform
- Developing and revising technical documentation such as procedural, instructional, and operational guides and manuals, technical reports and specifications, and maintenance inventory systems.
- Planning and carrying out quality audit inspections, as well as assessing and reviewing systems, data, and documentation.
- Assisting with system troubleshooting, diagnosis, testing, and resolution.
- Recommending corrective action plans and improvements in the resolution of non-compliance with standards discovered through the process and procedure monitoring and auditing.
- Testing, finding, and diagnosing functionality issues and defects in systems, and writing code following defined testing methodologies, rules, and quality standards to ensure systems run as expected.
- Reviewing and assessing organizational systems architecture, as well as advising existing and future hardware and software strategies and directions.
- Identifying deviations and possible high-risk areas in ensuring standard and procedure adherence.
- Evaluating, analyzing, and diagnosing technological difficulties and issues such as desktop installation, maintenance, repair, upgrade, and configuration, as well as troubleshooting of desktops, software, hardware, printers, the Internet, email, databases, operating systems, and security systems.
- Creating, implementing, and delivering technical assistance and training in application software and operational processes.
- Communicating, teaching, and coordinating with users and management to ensure understanding and adherence to standards, procedures, and quality control concerns and activities.
