ICT Support and Test Engineers (NEC) are responsible for developing processes and methods to support, develop, maintain, and manage technical quality assurance processes and guidelines as well as system infrastructure.
Skill Level
The majority of professions in this unit category need a level of expertise equivalent to a bachelor’s degree or more. For the formal qualification, at least five years of relevant experience and/or equivalent vendor certification may be substituted. - Assisting with system troubleshooting, diagnosis, testing, and resolution.
- Recommending corrective action plans and improvements in the resolution of non-compliance with standards discovered through the process and procedure monitoring and auditing.
- Testing, finding, and diagnosing functionality issues and defects in systems, and writing code following defined testing methodologies, rules, and quality standards to ensure systems run as expected.
- Reviewing and assessing organizational systems architecture, as well as advising existing and future hardware and software strategies and directions.
- Identifying deviations and possible high-risk areas in ensuring standard and procedure adherence.
- Evaluating, analyzing, and diagnosing technological difficulties and issues such as desktop installation, maintenance, repair, upgrade, and configuration, as well as troubleshooting of desktops, software, hardware, printers, the Internet, email, databases, operating systems, and security systems.
