Computer Network Professionals
The Network Analyst’s role is to study, evaluate, and suggest network design and development plans, as well as to install, manage, maintain, and configure network hardware and software, monitor and optimize performance, and troubleshoot and give user assistance.
Skill Level
The majority of professions in this unit category need a level of expertise equivalent to a bachelor’s degree or more. For the formal qualification, at least five years of relevant experience and/or equivalent vendor certification may be substituted. In some cases, in addition to the official qualification (ANZSCO Skill Level 1), appropriate experience and/or on-the-job training may be necessary.

- For the design, configuration, and integration of computer systems, analyzing, designing, understanding, and assessing complex system design and architectural requirements, data models, and diagrams.
- Preparing and maintaining network inventory processes and documentation, as well as recording network problem diagnosis and resolution, network upgrades and alterations, and maintenance instructions.
- Supporting and debugging network faults and crises with specialized expertise.
- Network infrastructure research, analysis, evaluation, and monitoring to ensure networks are set up to run at peak performance.
- Providing network programming to meet the needs and requirements of certain businesses.
